Temporarily detain the Director of the Department of Food Safety of the Ministry of Health and many defendants
Expanding the investigation into the case at the Department of Food Safety of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Public Security prosecuted Director of the Department of Food Safety Tran Viet Nga for the crime of accepting bribes.
The process of expanding the investigation of the criminal case of "Giving bribes and Receiving bribes" that occurred at the Department of Food Safety under the Ministry of Health and related companies in Hanoi and other provinces and cities nationwide has discovered the acts of "Giving bribes" and "Receiving bribes" in the process of reviewing documents and issuing Certificates of advertising content for health protection foods.
Based on collected documents and evidence, on August 28, the Office of the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a Decision to prosecute the accused, an order to arrest the accused for temporary detention, an order to prohibit leaving the place of residence for 10 accused and a search warrant for the residence and workplace at 15 locations, specifically:
Prosecuted and temporarily detained: Tran Viet Nga, Director of the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health; Tran Thi Thu Lieu, Deputy Head of the Department of Food Poisoning Surveillance and Information and Communication under the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health; Nguyen Thi Hai Ha, specialist of the Department of Standards Management and Testing under the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health for the crime of "Receiving bribes", stipulated in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code.

Prosecute the accused and apply the measure of prohibiting them from leaving their place of residence: Phung Thi Thuy Ha, specialist of the Department of Food Poisoning Monitoring and Information and Communication under the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health; Nguyen Thi Viet Ha, specialist of the Department of Food Product Management under the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health for the crime of "Receiving bribes", stipulated in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code; Tran Thi Luu, specialist of the Department of Food Product Management under the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health for the crime of "Receiving bribes", stipulated in Clause 2, Article 354 of the Penal Code.
Prosecute the accused and apply the preventive measure of prohibiting them from leaving their place of residence to: Dau Thi Giang, born in 1994, residing in Block 5A, Dai Dong Commune, Nghe An Province, for the crime of "Giving bribes" as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 364 of the Penal Code; Nguyen Thanh Uyen, born in 1992, residing in Village 9, Hat Mon Commune, Hanoi City, for the crime of "Giving bribes", as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 364 of the Penal Code.
Prosecute the accused, do not apply preventive measures against Quach Thi Tra My, born in 1992, residing at Apartment 12A07, Business Tower Apartment, No. 01 Thanh Binh, Ha Dong Ward, Hanoi for the crime of "Giving bribes" as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 364, Penal Code; Tran Thi Quynh Trang, born in 1992, residing at No. 6A, Lane 139/69, Hoa Lam Street, Viet Hung Ward, Hanoi for the crime of "Giving bribes", as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 364, Penal Code (due to being detained at T16 Detention Center, Ministry of Public Security in another case).
Search warrants were issued for 15 locations including the residences and workplaces of the defendants at the Food Safety Department, Ministry of Health and localities.
On August 29, the Supreme People's Procuracy (Department 3) issued decisions approving the above-mentioned procedural decisions. The Office of the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency conducted procedural measures in compliance with the provisions of law.
Currently, the Office of the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is conducting an expanded investigation into the case, clarifying all violations of related individuals to strictly handle them according to the provisions of the law.
