Female company director arrested for tax evasion amounting to billions of dong.

On May 20th, the Dong Nai Provincial Police announced that they have issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict, arrest, and detain Nguyen Thi Nhung (born in 1972, residing in Long Khanh City, Dong Nai province) and search her residence to investigate and clarify the crime of tax evasion.

According to the investigation, in late March 2015, the Trading Company, headed by Ms. Nhung, was leased land plots No. 14 and No. 15, map sheet No. 33, located in Buu Hoa Ward, Bien Hoa City, with a total area of ​​nearly 31,000 m2, by the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province for the purpose of investing in an eco-tourism destination for a period of 50 years. The land lease payment method was annual payments, from 2014 to 2064.

However, after being allocated the land, TM Company did not implement any aspects of the investment project. Simultaneously, they requested a change in the land lease payment method from annual payments to a one-time payment for the entire lease period, which was approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.

After changing the method of payment and land lease fees, in April 2018, TM Company signed a contract transferring the land use rights to QC Transport - Logistics and Trade Joint Stock Company, whose general director is Mr. NNH.

Through investigative measures, the Dong Nai Provincial Police Department determined that the trading company, headed by Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, had evaded corporate income tax amounting to nearly 3.6 billion VND. Therefore, they decided to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspect, and place her under temporary detention.
