Female accountant arrested for embezzling nearly 1 billion VND from the company.
Tran Kim Phuoc, an accountant, falsified bank account registration forms during the payroll process. Phuoc added fake information and account numbers to the payroll list, embezzling nearly 1 billion VND from the company.
On September 10th, the Investigation Police Department of Binh Duong province issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Kim Phuoc (born in 1985, residing in Hiep Thanh ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province) for investigation into the following offense:Fraudulent appropriation of property.
According to initial investigations, Tran Kim Phuoc worked as the chief accountant at WJ Company from April 2016 to July 2021. During this time, Phuoc abused his position to commit fraudulent acts aimed at misappropriating company assets.
Specifically, Phuoc forged bank account registration forms during the process of paying salaries to employees. After the payroll was approved by the company director, Phuoc added fake information and account numbers to the payroll list, deceiving the director into signing off on the transfer.
Using this scheme, Tran Kim Phuoc embezzled over 945 million VND from WJ company over several years.
The case is currently under investigation by the police.
