Arrest of second death row inmate Nguyen Van Tinh in Hoa Binh

Death row inmate Nguyen Van Tinh, the second death row inmate in the escape from T16 prison, was arrested in Hoa Binh province at around 1:15 a.m. on September 17, only about 7 hours after death row inmate Le Van Tho was arrested in Hai Duong.

The Ministry of Public Security's pursuit force captured Nguyen Van Tinh (born in 1989, residing in Lap Thach village, Dong Xuan commune, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi), a death row inmate who escaped from the T16 prison of the Ministry of Public Security with death row inmate Le Van Tho, at around 1:15 a.m. on September 17 in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province.

Death row inmate Nguyen Van Tinh was arrested by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (C47) under the General Department of Police - Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Hoa Binh Provincial Police in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province.

Immediately afterwards, the C47 working group transferred death row inmate Nguyen Van Tinh back to detention center T16 in the early morning of September 17.

Thus, only about 7 hours after death row inmate Le Van Tho (aka Tho "Sut", born in 1980, residing in Thanh Son commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province) was arrested by the Criminal Police Department (C45) under the General Department of Police - Ministry of Public Security in coordination with Hai Duong Provincial Police in Nam Sach district (Hai Duong), the General Department of Police coordinated with the police of units and localities to arrest both extremely dangerous death row inmates who escaped from T16 prison on September 11.

Previously, two death row inmates Le Van Tho (aka Tho "Sut", born in 1980, residing in hamlet 6 Thuy Lam, Thanh Son commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province) and Nguyen Van Tinh (born in 1989, residing in Lap Thach village, Dong Xuan commune, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi) escaped from T16 detention camp (Ministry of Public Security; in Thanh Oai district, Hanoi) on September 11.

The Ministry of Public Security has directed the General Department of Police to organize the capture of two death row inmates who escaped from T16 prison. Accordingly, the Hanoi City Police will coordinate with functional units of the Ministry of Public Security, along with police units and localities nationwide to focus on tracking down the escaped death row inmates to capture them.

All international border gates have been closely monitored by the police force to detect and arrest Nguyen Van Tinh and Le Van Tho. In addition, the police force mobilized people to bravely detect and fight against crimes.

The two death row inmates, Le Van Tho and Nguyen Van Tinh, are both extremely dangerous. Tho has four previous convictions for murder, kidnapping for the purpose of appropriating property, illegal use of military weapons, bribery, theft, and abuse of trust. In May 2017, the People's Court of Ha Nam Province sentenced Le Van Tho to death for the crimes of illegal drug trafficking, murder, and fraud.

Tinh was sentenced to death by the Hanoi People’s Court on April 27, 2017, for illegally trading in drugs in a ring that sold 170 heroin cakes hidden in industrial gas cylinders. Tinh had a previous conviction for receiving property obtained through criminal activity.

According to Laborer
