Second death row inmate, Nguyen Van Tinh, arrested in Hoa Binh.

Death row inmate Nguyen Van Tinh, the second inmate to escape from T16 prison, was apprehended in Hoa Binh province at approximately 1:15 AM on September 17th, just about 7 hours after death row inmate Le Van Tho was arrested in Hai Duong.

The pursuit force of the Ministry of Public Security has apprehended Nguyen Van Tinh (born in 1989, residing in Lap Thach village, Dong Xuan commune, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi), a death row inmate who escaped from T16 prison of the Ministry of Public Security along with death row inmate Le Van Tho, at approximately 1:15 AM on September 17th in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province.

Death row inmate Nguyen Van Tinh was apprehended by forces from the Drug Crime Investigation Department (C47) of the General Department of Police - Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Hoa Binh Provincial Police, in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province.

Shortly afterwards, the C47 task force escorted death row inmate Nguyen Van Tinh back to T16 detention center in the early morning of September 17th.

Thus, just about 7 hours after death row inmate Le Van Tho (aka Tho "Sut", born in 1980, residing in Thanh Son commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province) was arrested by forces of the Criminal Police Department (C45) under the General Department of Police - Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Hai Duong Provincial Police in Nam Sach district (Hai Duong), forces of the General Department of Police, in coordination with police units and localities, arrested both extremely dangerous death row inmates who escaped from T16 prison on September 11th.

Previously, two death row inmates, Le Van Tho (aka Tho "Sut", born in 1980, residing in Hamlet 6, Thuy Lam, Thanh Son Commune, Thanh Ha District, Hai Duong Province) and Nguyen Van Tinh (born in 1989, residing in Lap Thach Village, Dong Xuan Commune, Quoc Oai District, Hanoi), escaped from T16 detention center (Ministry of Public Security; in Thanh Oai District, Hanoi) on September 11th.

The Ministry of Public Security has directed the General Department of Police to organize the pursuit and capture of the two death row inmates who escaped from T16 prison. Accordingly, the Hanoi City Police, in coordination with functional units of the Ministry of Public Security, along with police units and localities nationwide, are focusing on tracking down the escaped death row inmates to apprehend them.

All international border crossings were closely monitored by the police force to detect and apprehend Nguyen Van Tinh and Le Van Tho. In addition, the police encouraged the public to bravely detect, combat, and report crimes.

The two death row inmates, Le Van Tho and Nguyen Van Tinh, are both extremely dangerous individuals. Tho has four prior convictions for crimes including murder, kidnapping for ransom, illegal use of military weapons, bribery, theft, and embezzlement. In May 2017, the People's Court of Ha Nam province sentenced Le Van Tho to death for the crimes of illegal drug trafficking, murder, and fraud.

Tình was sentenced to death by the Hanoi City People's Court on April 27, 2017, for illegally trafficking narcotics in a drug ring that sold 170 blocks of heroin hidden in industrial gas cylinders. Prior to this, Tình had a criminal record for receiving stolen property.
