Authorities busted a case involving the transportation of wild animals from Nghe An province to the North for consumption.
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 20th, the Dien Chau Traffic Police Station (Road and Rail Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police) announced the discovery of a case involving the transportation of wild animals from Nghe An to the North for consumption, seizing 5 civets weighing over 21kg.
Accordingly, at approximately 10:30 PM on August 19th, a task force from the Dien Chau Traffic Police Station, while on duty at Km 418, National Highway 1A, in Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district, spotted a Toyota truck with license plate 37D 027.46 driven by Nguyen Tat Phuc (born in 1993), residing in Tan Son commune, Do Luong district, exhibiting suspicious behavior, and proceeded to request an inspection.

During the inspection, authorities discovered two styrofoam boxes in the back of the vehicle containing five live civets weighing over 21kg, without any documentation proving their origin. The task force drew up a report as per regulations.

According to the driver's confession, these civets were being transported to Ninh Binh for sale at the request of a man, for a transportation fee of 200,000 VND.
The incident is currently under further investigation.
