On the economy, Vice President Harris criticized Trump's record and outlined her views when she stated: "We are charting a new path forward, toward a future with a strong middle class, and building that middle class will be the defining goal of my presidency." Ms. Harris promised to build an economy that provides opportunity to compete and succeed for all, including cutting taxes for the middle class, from which she comes.
Regarding the issue of abortion, Ms. Harris accused Mr. Trump of personally selecting members of the US Supreme Court to take away women's reproductive rights and that there are currently too many women in the US who cannot make these decisions.
In addition, Ms. Harris also criticized Mr. Trump for not being serious, and the consequences of bringing Mr. Trump back to the White House are extremely serious.

The former prosecutor cited Mr. Trump’s conviction in a New York fraud case as well as a ruling against him in a libel case against writer E. Jean Carroll.
The crowd at the United Center - the venue for the Democratic National Convention - chanted "we will not go back" in response to Ms. Harris's criticism of the 45th owner of the White House.

Referring to border security, one of the most criticized issues by Republicans, the Democratic presidential candidate noted that the Biden-Harris administration had worked with Republicans in Congress to draft a bipartisan bill to address the massive immigration situation. Vice President Harris also criticized former President Donald Trump for his own actions, accusing the 45th White House owner of “ordering his allies in Congress to kill” the bill to benefit him during the campaign. She stressed: “I refuse to play politics with our security,” and pledged to “bring a bipartisan border security bill” and affirm that she would sign it into law.

Vice President Harris has strongly defended Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), while criticizing former Republican President Donald Trump's previous comments on the war in Ukraine.
In her closing remarks at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), Harris said, “As president, I will stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and our NATO allies.” Vice President Harris noted that five days before Russia invaded Ukraine, she warned President Zelensky and helped lead the U.S. diplomatic response in rallying “more than 50 countries” into a united front to support Ukraine.
Regarding the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, Ms. Harris vowed to stand up for Israel's right to self-defense, but added that the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip was "devastating" and "heartbreaking." She shared: "President Biden and I are working to end this war, so that Israel is safe, the hostages are released, the suffering in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can realize their rights to dignity, security, freedom and self-determination."
