US Election 2024: Mr. Trump easily wins 5 more states
(Baonghean.vn) - The former US President faced almost no opposition when all other major Republican candidates dropped out.

Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has easily won his party's primaries in five more states, while incumbent Joe Biden has done the same for the Democrats, as the two politicians continue to look ahead to a rematch in the presidential election in November.
According to the media, Mr. Trump won a resounding victory on March 19 (local time) in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Kansas and Ohio, winning the support of all delegates.
He faced virtually no opposition as all of his high-profile Republican rivals, including former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, dropped out of the race.
With the exception of Ms Haley, who said Mr Trump had to “earn” the support of her constituents, all of the other potential Republican candidates have expressed support for the former president.
Mr Trump secured a majority of delegates last week, cementing his place as the Republican Party's presumptive nominee in November's crucial election.
Biden made similar strides in the Democratic primary on March 19, winning all the delegates in the same five states. In Florida, the incumbent was the only candidate on the ballot.
Like Mr. Trump, Mr. Biden has already secured enough delegates to become his party’s presumptive nominee, with virtually no opposition from within the Democratic Party. While both candidates have essentially “locked in” their respective nominations, they are expected to be formally selected at the Republican National Convention in July and the Democratic National Convention in late August.
The US presidential election will be held on November 5. According to the latest Morning Consult survey of registered voters, Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden are neck and neck, with each receiving 43% support. However, a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll in February showed Mr. Biden trailing his opponent in seven battleground states – Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada and Wisconsin.
