Closing ceremony of the training course on adapting and composing lyrics for folk songs (ví and giặm).
On November 25th, the Nghe An Traditional Arts Center held a closing ceremony for the 2025 training course on adapting and composing lyrics for Nghe Tinh folk songs (Vi and Giam).
After nearly two weeks of serious and effective implementation, the training course has completed all program content as planned.
During the training course, participants attended inspiring, focused learning sessions with topics directly presented by People's Artist Pham Tien Dung, People's Artist An Ninh, and musician Phan Thanh.
After intensive training, the class was divided into three groups for instructors to closely monitor and provide direct guidance. The authors returned to their local communities to create adaptations in their familiar living spaces. During this time, instructors provided dedicated feedback and corrections to each manuscript, helping students perfect their works to the highest quality. Once completed, students returned to the training class for further feedback, corrections, and direct evaluation, ensuring each piece met the required content and artistic standards.
Although the training period was short, this year's method was innovative, focusing on in-depth practice rather than extensive theory, creating conditions for trainees to access, apply, and create more effectively. The creative content was also clearly oriented, focusing on reflecting new social issues, especially in the context of the current provincial merger, thereby helping folk songs closely reflect the pulse of life.
At the end of the course, each participant submitted one to two works to the organizers. Many of the submissions were of good quality and suitable for staging and performing for the community in the future. Several outstanding compositions were selected for performance in this morning's presentation, adding a fresh vibrancy to the ceremony. In particular, the most outstanding works will be selected for inclusion in the anthology of Nghe Tinh folk songs (Vi and Giam), contributing a valuable resource to the songwriting movement as well as to the preservation and promotion of Nghe Tinh folk songs.
