Party and State leaders attended the Closing Ceremony of the 2025 Vesak Grand Celebration. The Closing Ceremony took place in the main hall of Duong Minh Chau lecture hall with more than 3,000 delegates from Vietnam and abroad. This once again affirms that, in Buddhist teachings, the philosophy of unity and tolerance are two core elements that express compassion, wisdom, and aim towards the common happiness and well-being of the community, and the sustainable development of each nation and people.
Unity and tolerance are not only Buddhist ethical doctrines, but also serve as guiding principles for people's thoughts, words, and actions in building a peaceful, conflict-free society filled with love.
According to Venerable Professor Dr. Brahmapundit, Chairman of the International Committee for the UN Vesak Celebration, building peace through the Dharma, Vesak 2025 will be an unforgettable milestone. Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh stated that the Grand Ceremony had been a great success. The ceremony also took place at a very special time, as the entire Vietnamese nation had just solemnly celebrated the 50th anniversary of the reunification of the country; looked forward to the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); and was actively preparing to enter a new era, an era of national prosperity and happiness. UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay congratulates the success of the UN Vesak 2025. Venerable Thich Duc Thien - Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Executive Council - congratulated the United Nations Vesak Celebration 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City on its resounding success, bringing faith and optimism to a bright future for humanity.
