(Baonghean.vn) - After a week of exciting competition, the Closing Ceremony of the 24th Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament, 2022, took place this afternoon (June 16).

Attending the Closing Ceremony were: Mr. Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Truong Thiet Hung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

On the Organizing Committee's side were: Mr. Ngo Duc Kien - Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nghia - Deputy General Director of Song Lam Nghe An Sports Joint Stock Company, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; sponsors; representatives of Song Lam Nghe An Football Club; journalists and reporters from central and local news agencies; officials, citizens and players participating in the tournament.

Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football TournamentThis is an annual tournament included in the province's annual competition program, jointly organized by Nghe An Newspaper, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Education and Training, and Song Lam Nghe An Sports Joint Stock Company.

This year's tournament attracted 464 young athletes from 28 teams representing 21 districts, cities, and towns. The season saw 52 matches played, including 37 in the children's age group and 15 in the youth age group, with a total of 253 goals scored, of which 183 were in the children's age group and 70 in the youth age group.

The tournament's media coverage was systematic, timely, and professional across multiple platforms. Nghe An Newspaper broadcast live 27 matches across both age groups, along with over 150 news articles, photo series, and video clips about the matches, as well as interesting stories from the sidelines, in its publications, attracting over 1 million views, reach, and visits across various platforms.

Besides the exciting matches, the young players participating in the tournament also had a very meaningful summer with experiences outside the tournament such as interacting with famous Vietnamese football coaches and stars; attending training sessions of the Song Lam Nghe An first team; and immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the Four-Team Tournament at Vinh Stadium. In addition, many teams organized trips for the children to visit historical sites in Vinh city and surrounding areas.

At the Opening Ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 126 gifts to players who achieved the title of "Excellent Student, Excellent Football Player"; and 20 gifts to children at the SOS Children's Village Vinh. The Provincial People's Committee also donated 100 million VND to purchase 464 school bags and competition uniforms for the players.

Among the 464 children participating in the tournament, 20 are from impoverished or near-impoverished families, who have always strived to overcome their circumstances and difficulties to pursue their passion for football.

To encourage and support the students, the Organizing Committee, in coordination with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, presented 20 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to encourage them to continue striving and excelling in their studies and to constantly improve themselves.

At the Closing Ceremony, in addition to awarding the championship title to the Tan Ky Children's team, the Organizing Committee also presented the "Best Player" award to Pham Van Anh (wearing jersey number 7) of the Tan Ky Children's team; the best goalkeeper award went to Pham Gia Bao (wearing jersey number 1), Tan Ky Children's team. The top scorer in the Children's age group was Nguyen Sinh Loi (number 3) of the Dien Chau Children's team with 10 goals.

In the youth category, besides the Do Luong team winning the championship, the Organizing Committee also awarded the "Best Player" award to Nguyen Xuan Nhat (wearing jersey number 9) of the Do Luong Youth Team; and the "Best Goalkeeper" award to Vo Hong Quan (wearing jersey number 1) of the Do Luong Youth Team, who only conceded 5 goals. The top scorer in the youth category was Ho Phuc An (wearing jersey number 8) of the Hoang Mai Town Team with 6 goals.
