Closing Ceremony of the 26th Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament
After a week of exciting competition, the Closing Ceremony of the 26th Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament, 2024, took place on the afternoon of June 13th at Vinh Stadium.
Attending the Closing Ceremony, on behalf of the Central Government, were the following comrades: Nguyen The Ky - Former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Chairman of the Central Council for Literary and Artistic Theory.
On the provincial leadership side, the following comrades were present:Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
On the Organizing Committee's side, there is ComradeNgo Duc Kien - Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament; Deputy Heads of the Organizing Committee of the tournament: Hoang Van Phuc - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; Nguyen Dinh Nghia - Vice President of the Nghe An Football Federation; Tran Quang Dung - Director of the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center; Tran Van Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper; Tran Huu Nghia - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper.

The Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament is an annual competition within the province's annual competition program, jointly organized by Nghe An Newspaper, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Education and Training, and Song Lam Nghe An Sports Joint Stock Company.

The tournament is organized to create a beneficial playground for teenagers and children; to encourage and motivate them to participate in training to improve their health, enhance their physical fitness, and develop their talents; and to discover and train football talents for the province and the country.

This year's tournament will take place from June 6th, 2024 to June 13th, 2024, with the participation of 32 teams (14 youth teams, 18 children's teams) from 21 districts, cities, and towns, comprising 412 athletes.

This year, the Organizing Committee awarded the title of "Outstanding Student and Football Player" to 161 athletes. The Nghe An Provincial Fund for the Poor provided financial support for the education of 21 underprivileged student athletes who have overcome difficulties.

After more than a week of exciting competition, 64 matches were played, including 39 in the Children's age group and 25 in the Youth age group, with a total of 272 goals scored, of which 156 goals were in the Children's age group and 116 goals were in the Youth age group.

The tournament's media coverage was systematic, timely, and professional across multiple platforms. Nghe An Newspaper broadcast live 37 matches across both age groups, as well as the draw ceremonies, opening and closing ceremonies, and award presentations. In addition, 64 video clips highlighting matches and beautiful goals were published, along with nearly 250 news articles, photo series, and interesting stories about the matches and sidelines on Nghe An Newspaper's publications and platforms, attracting a large number of views, engagements, and shares. Many central and local media outlets also participated and reported on the tournament.


At the Closing Ceremony, in the Children's age group, the Organizing Committee awarded the Cup and Gold Medal to the Hoang Mai Children's team; the Silver Medal to the Quy Hop Children's team; and the Bronze Medal to the Tuong Duong and Hung Nguyen Children's teams.

In the Junior category, the Cup and Gold Medal were awarded to the Quynh Luu Juniors; the Vinh City Juniors won the Silver Medal, and the Thanh Chuong and Quy Hop Juniors won the Bronze Medals.
At the ceremony, the organizing committee also awarded the Best Player award to Dau Duy Quoc Viet (Hoang Mai Children's Team) and Nguyen Chi Cong (Quynh Luu Youth Team); the Best Goalkeeper award to Bui Nhat Duy (Quy Hop Children's Team) and Pham Hoang Gia Bao (Vinh City Youth Team). The top scorer award was given to Nguyen Ngoc Hai Dang (Thai Hoa Children's Team) and Nguyen Van Nhat Thanh (Tan Ky Children's Team), both with 8 goals, and Nguyen Chi Cong (Quynh Luu Youth Team), with 6 goals.

In addition, the Que Phong Youth team and the Yen Thanh Children's team also won the Style Award.
