Closing of the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 29th, after 22.5 days of serious, urgent, scientific, democratic, and highly responsible work, the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly completed all the planned agenda items and held its closing session.
During the session, with a very high approval rate, the National Assembly voted to pass 7 laws and 8 resolutions; discussed and commented on 8 other draft laws; discussed and decided on many other important issues and issued a general resolution of the session.
Regarding socio-economic issues, the State budget, and decisions on important national matters, the National Assembly thoroughly discussed the situation and results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan, state finance and budget, and public investment in 2023, and adopted a Resolution on the socio-economic development plan, state budget estimates, and central budget allocation plan for 2024; decided on the public investment plan for 2024; and provided opinions on the mid-term assessment report on the results of implementing the 5-year plans for the period 2021-2025 on socio-economic development, economic restructuring, medium-term public investment, national finance, and public borrowing and repayment; and the 3-year financial and budget plan and public investment plan for 2024-2026. Results of implementing Resolution No. 43/2022/QH15 on fiscal and monetary policies supporting the socio-economic recovery and development program.

The National Assembly conducted supreme oversight of the implementation of National Assembly Resolutions on National Target Programs on building new rural areas in the period 2021-2025, sustainable poverty reduction in the period 2021-2025, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2021-2030. It also adopted a Resolution on the results of the thematic oversight with many important contents, recommendations, and solutions to accelerate progress and improve the effectiveness and quality of National Target Programs in the coming period.
The National Assembly spent 2.5 days questioning the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, and ministers and heads of agencies on the implementation of specialized oversight resolutions and questions from the 14th National Assembly and from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term to the end of the 4th Session, covering 21 areas under 4 content groups: General economy; sectoral economy; internal affairs and justice; culture and society.
The National Assembly has passed a Resolution on interpellation, which clearly defines the specific addresses, timeframes, and responsibilities, and requests the Government, the Prime Minister, and the ministers and heads of agencies to resolutely and effectively implement the commitments made before the National Assembly and the voters nationwide.
The National Assembly conducted a vote of confidence for 44 individuals holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly. The results of the vote of confidence were publicly announced and received the approval and high praise of voters and the people nationwide. The National Assembly requested that those who received the vote continue to build upon their achievements, overcome limitations, and fulfill the important responsibilities entrusted to them by the Party, the State, and the people.
At this session, the National Assembly discussed in the plenary hall the report on the results of receiving citizens, handling petitions, and resolving complaints and denunciations from citizens in 2023; the implementation of opinions and recommendations from voters and the people submitted to the 6th Session; the report on the results of monitoring the resolution of voter recommendations submitted to the 5th Session; considered the reports on the work of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy; and the Government's reports on the work of preventing and combating corruption, preventing and combating crime and violations of the law, and enforcing judgments in 2023.
In his closing remarks, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly had been successfully concluded, increasingly meeting practical requirements. The National Assembly acknowledges and highly appreciates the determination, efforts, and close coordination of the National Assembly's agencies, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and other relevant agencies and organizations in meticulously and effectively preparing the session's contents.
The Chairman of the National Assembly stated that, building on the successes and positive results of the 8th Plenum of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly, along with many important achievements after half of the term, he expressed confidence that, under the correct and wise leadership of the Party, the close, harmonious coordination and active participation of the entire political system, and the support, unity, efforts, and dedication of the people and the business community, we will certainly overcome difficulties and challenges, seize opportunities, and achieve the highest possible results in the socio-economic development plans for 2023, 2024, and the entire 2021-2025 period, striving to successfully implement the goals set forth in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.
