Closing ceremony of the 2016 Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival
(Baonghean.vn) - After 3 exciting days, on the evening of October 19, at Ho Chi Minh Square, the 2016 Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival concluded.
Attending the ceremony were members of the Standing Committee of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee: Dang Quoc Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Trung Dung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, districts, cities and towns.

Participating in the closing ceremony were 9 performances selected from 75 performances by 25 Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk song clubs participating in the festival.
The closing speech of the Festival by Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Pham Tien Dung emphasized: This is the third time the Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival has been organized from the grassroots to the provincial and inter-provincial levels. This activity not only affirms the eternal value of Vi and Giam, but also creates a large stage for mass art to compete and show off its beauty. At the same time, it demonstrates the responsibility of the two provinces, localities, especially the numerous artisans and actors in propagating, promoting and honoring the Vi and Giam folk song heritage after it was recognized as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The Clubs have closely followed the Regulations of the Festival Organizing Committee to build a program with a tight and reasonable structure and layout, ensuring the program duration, theme, genre, and form of expression with serious investment in staging, many new creations of high artistic value.

It is worth noting that in addition to the artists who have already established their names, at this Festival there appeared many talented young faces, many young voices singing sweet folk songs, fluently performing Vi and Giam melodies from ancient lyrics adapted from the old ones.
At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 25 first prizes, 25 second prizes and 15 third prizes to the performances; 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 6 third prizes to the clubs. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also awarded certificates of merit to the clubs, artisans, artists and actors.
