Newborn baby left in front of house in the middle of the night

(Baonghean.vn)- At around 0:00 on October 5, Nguyen Thi Thao Trang, a 10th grade student residing in Tay Ho 1 block, Quang Tien ward, Thai Hoa town, discovered the sound of a newborn baby crying in front of her house gate. She immediately called her parents to help the baby.

Trang’s family ran to the gate and saw a newborn baby girl crying. Trang’s family reported the incident to the local authorities. Quang Tien ward authorities and doctors from the Northwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital examined, monitored the baby’s health and took care of the baby.

According to the hospital's obstetrics midwife, the baby was born and had just had its umbilical cord cut a few hours before Thao Trang's family discovered it through crying.

Mr. Pham Van Hung, Vice Chairman of Quang Tien Ward People's Committee said: Currently, the health of the abandoned newborn baby girl is completely healthy. The Ward Committee will announce on the mass media, if the parents and relatives of the baby do not come to receive the baby, the government will carry out legal procedures for any eligible family to adopt the baby, raise and care for the baby.

“After learning about the abandoned newborn baby girl, many families called, wrote applications, and went directly to the Ward People's Committee to adopt the baby,” Mr. Hung added.

Currently, the baby is being monitored and cared for at Nghe An Northwestern General Hospital.
