A newborn baby was abandoned in front of a house in the middle of the night.

(Baonghean.vn) - Around 0:00 on October 5th, Nguyen Thi Thao Trang, a 10th-grade student residing in Tay Ho 1 block, Quang Tien ward, Thai Hoa town, heard a newborn baby crying in front of her house. She immediately called her parents to help rescue the baby.

When Trang's family rushed to the gate, they found a crying newborn baby girl. They reported the incident to the local authorities. The Quang Tien ward authorities, along with doctors and nurses from the Northwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital, conducted an examination, monitored the baby's health, and provided care.

According to the midwife in the hospital's Obstetrics Department, the newborn baby had just had its umbilical cord cut a few hours before Thao Trang's family discovered it through its cries.

Mr. Pham Van Hung, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tien Ward People's Committee, said: Currently, the abandoned newborn girl is in perfectly good health. The Ward Committee will announce the case through mass media, and if the parents or relatives do not come to claim the child, the authorities will carry out the legal procedures to allow a family that meets the criteria to adopt and care for the child.

"After learning about the abandoned newborn girl, many families called, wrote letters, and came directly to the Ward People's Committee to ask to adopt the baby," Mr. Hung added.

The child is currently being monitored and cared for at the Northwest Nghe An General Hospital.
