8-year-old American boy drives truck to buy hamburger

A boy in the US stole his father's pickup truck and drove to McDonald's to buy a cheeseburger.

According to AFP, on the evening of April 9, the boy drove his 4-year-old sister for 1.5 miles (2.4 km), stopping at red lights, yielding to other vehicles before turning left into the store.McDonald's in townEast Palestine, bOhio

While the adventure was taking place, the boy's parents were sleeping at home, unaware.

Police only learned of the incident when residents reported seeing a child driving through town. When the boy stuck his head out of the car window to buy a cake, shopkeepers thought it was a prank.

"The staff thought the boy's parents were sitting in the back but they clearly weren't there,"Patrolman Jacob Koehler recounted.

When the police showed up, the boy started crying because he thought he had done something wrong. He said heLearn to drive by watching tutorials on Youtube.

While waiting for their family to pick them up, the two children enjoyed cheesecake, grilled chicken and french fries.

No one has been charged in the incident.
