Belarus and Russia review their approach to the use of nuclear weapons.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated that the approach to nuclear weapons has changed in the context of new technologies.

According to RIA Novosti on December 4, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Nazaruk stated in an interview that Minsk and Moscow have reviewed their approach to the use of nuclear weapons in light of the emergence of weapons based on the latest technology.
“The decision to deploy tactical nuclear weapons by Russia on Belarusian territory is a fact. Therefore, in the new document, from a legal standpoint, this is a clearly defined measure between our two countries. The approaches to the use of nuclear weapons have been adjusted,” said the Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister.
Igor Nazaruk explained that Moscow and Minsk are monitoring the application of new technologies in the field of weapons and the use of weapons based on new physical principles.
Mr. Nazaruk stated that on December 6th, a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State will be held in Minsk, where President Vladimir Putin and President Alexander Lukashenko will review the draft concept of security for the Union State and the Russia-Belarus agreement on security guarantees. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the provisions of Russia's updated nuclear doctrine are fully consistent with these documents.
According to Mr. Nazaruk, this is a landmark issue. It is designed to take into account the changing external conditions as the world shifts to a multipolar world order.
The Union State Treaty between Russia and Belarus has been in existence for 25 years. The Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed that Minsk's position has always been to view this strategic alliance as an "unbreakable brotherhood between Belarus and Russia," despite political upheavals and external challenges.
