The Co Xin ferry crossing was a vital transportation artery, and it was also heavily attacked by the American imperialists to block the supply lines from the North to the battlefields in the South. This place witnessed the enthusiastic participation of cadres and people of Hung Lam commune (now Xuan Lam commune) in supporting the war effort. A prime example is the late Mr. Xin, a ferryman who dedicated his entire life and possessions to serving the struggle for national independence and reunification.

Co Xin, whose real name was Luu Van Khuoi, was born in 1910 in Nghia Son village, Phu Long commune (now Long Xa commune, Hung Nguyen district). Co Xin was a silent ferryman who contributed his manpower and resources to the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism.

With unwavering fighting spirit and courage, Comrade Xin, along with the local people, transported thousands of cadres, soldiers, and supplies across the Lam River to support the South. Comrade Xin heroically sacrificed his life while on duty in a bombing raid on April 16, 1968 (corresponding to March 19, 1968 in the Lunar calendar).
