Common problems in car cooling and lubrication systems.

(Baonghean.vn) - The cooling system and lubrication system are two important components that help a car run smoothly. However, these two parts are also prone to various malfunctions that drivers need to be aware of in order to detect and repair them.

1. Oil pressure is lower than standard.

When encountering this problem, the owner needs to check the oil pump, as it may be faulty. Additionally, the oil pump's pressure regulating valve may also be damaged. Next, worn or leaking piston-connecting rod components could be a cause. It's also possible that a faulty lubricating oil pressure gauge, or a decrease in lubricating oil viscosity, is causing this problem.

2. The oil level at the bottom of the engine crankcase is not as specified.

If the oil level at the bottom of the engine is found to be incorrect, it means the oil level is either too low or too high. It could also indicate excessive oil consumption in the air compressor; therefore, check the relevant components to rectify the problem if the oil level at the bottom of the engine crankcase is incorrect.

3. The engine oil quality is substandard.

Additionally, if you notice that the engine oil quality is below standard, it could be due to thin oil, contaminated oil, a dirty oil filter, or the owner not changing the engine oil on time. If this situation is left unaddressed, the engine components will wear down significantly, leading to engine failure.

4. The water tank is clogged.

The radiator is made up of narrow pipes, and over time, rust and sediment accumulate, clogging the pipes. This prevents the water from flowing smoothly through the radiator, hindering proper cooling, increasing pressure, and potentially causing leaks. To address this, you need to check and flush the radiator, and if there are any blockages, clear the pipes to ensure proper cooling.

5. The cooling system is leaking.

If your car overheats quickly and you notice a leak in the cooling system, you need to check the hoses immediately as they may be damaged. Next, a damaged water pump seal or a damaged water pump shaft seal can also cause cooling system leaks, leading to rapid engine overheating and a high risk of fire or explosion.

6. The coolant reservoir is overflowing.

If you experience this problem, it could be due to a damaged gasket between the cylinder head and the engine block, a loosely screwed-in cylinder head, or a clogged radiator in the cooling system. Additionally, it could be caused by cracks or fissures in the engine cylinders.

7. The water pump is broken.

The water pump's function is to circulate the coolant in the cooling system. If the pump fails, the coolant will not circulate properly, causing the engine to overheat. Water pumps generally have a long lifespan, but they can fail sooner. When the pump fails, you must replace it to ensure the engine runs smoothly.
