Nghe An Field Hospital No. 1 ceases operations.
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the first field hospital established in Nghe An, and also the place treating the most patients.
On September 26th, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh, in charge of Field Hospital No. 1 in Nghe An, announced that the hospital had temporarily ceased operations after being completely free of COVID-19 patients. This is the second field hospital in Nghe An to have no more patients. It is expected that Field Hospitals No. 2 and No. 5 will also temporarily cease operations in the coming days.
Field Hospital No. 1 was put into operation at the end of June, when Nghe An province began to record a surge in patients. The hospital has a capacity of 100 beds, repurposed from the Hung Nguyen District Medical Center. However, at times, it had to treat up to 187 patients, requiring the borrowing of beds from nearby medical facilities.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh, in the past three months, this hospital has treated nearly 600 COVID-19 patients, making it the first field hospital and also the field hospital treating the most patients in Nghe An. "In three months, we received many very serious patients. There was a case of a patient over 90 years old with multiple underlying conditions who required treatment for a month and a half," Mr. Thanh said, adding that during its operation, there have been no unfortunate incidents, no complications, and no patient deaths.
To date, Nghe An province has recorded over 1,800 COVID-19 patients. Currently, only 71 patients are still receiving treatment, mainly at the Center for Tropical Diseases (Nghe An Friendship General Hospital). Previously, Field Hospital No. 4 also temporarily ceased operations after nearly a month of activation.
