Vinh City General Hospital is allowed to resume operations from the afternoon of June 17.
(Baonghean.vn) - After inspection and evaluation, the Department of Health issued Official Dispatch No. 2346/SYT-NVY allowing Vinh City General Hospital to continue receiving and treating new patients from 2:00 p.m. on June 17, 2021.
Timely deploymentdrastic measures to prevent and control the epidemic
Previously, on June 15, Vinh General Hospital received a notice from the Nghe An Provincial Center for Disease Control about the case of patient N.D.T, (in Hung Dung ward, Vinh city) who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Patient N.D.T visited the outpatient ENT clinic of Vinh General Hospital on June 9, 2021. At that time, patient N.D.T did not have any symptoms for the doctor to order a SARS-CoV-2 screening test as prescribed.

Immediately, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Vinh City General Hospital held an urgent meeting to deploy epidemic prevention and control measures. After the urgent meeting of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province on the night of June 15, implementing the direction of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the Director of the Department of Health, Vinh City General Hospital immediately conducted Real Time PCR testing for all staff, service centers, patients, relatives of patients being treated at the hospital and related departments that night.
At the same time, the hospital investigated, traced, and isolated F1, F2, etc. subjects, quarantined them according to regulations, and organized disinfection and environmental sanitation throughout the hospital.

Following the directive, the Hospital has temporarily stopped receiving and treating new patients, but continues to examine and treat patients currently being treated as inpatients at the hospital.
On the night of June 16, the Real Time PCR test results of all 1,087 staff, patients, and relatives of patients were available. Accordingly, 700 samples of staff and 387 samples of patients and relatives being treated at Vinh City General Hospital were all negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Efforts to meet people's needs for medical examination and treatment
Currently, in the extremely complicated situation of the epidemic, in order to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of local people, the hospital has sent Official Dispatch No. 621/BVTP dated June 16, 2021 to request the opinion of the Department of Health on allowing the hospital to continue medical examination and treatment activities as soon as possible.

On the morning of June 17, Nghe An Department of Health organized an inspection team led by Dr. Nguyen Huu Le - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health, along with representatives of functional departments under the department to inspect the work of preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic and the current status of the process of triage, medical declaration, screening examination and rapid testing for SARS-CoV-2 virus antigen at Vinh City General Hospital.
After inspection and evaluation, the Department of Health issued Official Dispatch No. 2346/SYT-NVY dated June 17, 2021 on continuing to receive patients at medical examination and treatment facilities. Accordingly, Vinh City General Hospital is allowed to continue to receive and treat new patients from 2:00 p.m. on June 17, 2021.

Vinh City General Hospital continues to drastically and synchronously implement the following measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic:
- Conduct rapid SARS-CoV-2 antigen tests for all patients coming for examination and treatment before entering the hospital (people will pay for the testing costs themselves according to the regulations in Official Dispatch No. 5834/BYT-KH-TC dated October 27, 2020 of the Ministry of Health, Official Dispatch No. 2154/SYT-KHTC dated June 9, 2021 of Nghe An Department of Health, with a cost of 238,000 VND/time).
- Control patients and their relatives by fingerprints and facial recognition;
- Stop visiting patients, each patient is only allowed one family member to take care of them, and require patients and their families not to leave the hospital grounds during medical examination and treatment;
- Continue to isolate F1 cases according to regulations;
- Proactively screen, receive, quarantine, and monitor suspected cases of Covid-19 infection.
- Require people to always strictly follow the "5K Message" at the hospital.
