The year 2025 holds special significance for Vinh City General Hospital as it coincides with many important political and professional events such as the Party Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress, the 60th anniversary of the hospital's establishment, and the awarding of the First-Class Labor Medal; it also marks the implementation of policies and resolutions of the Party, State, and the health sector within the context of operating a two-tiered local government.

Overcoming numerous difficulties and challenges, with the spirit of unity and responsibility of its staff, Party members, officials, and workers, the hospital has successfully completed its political and professional tasks in 2025. Party building, professional development, and scientific and technical advancements continue to be prioritized, affirming Vinh City General Hospital's position as a reliable healthcare provider for people inside and outside the province.

Medical examination and treatment activities have developed evenly in scale and quality across all three facilities, with an average of approximately 3,000 outpatient visits and over 900 inpatients treated daily; most professional indicators have met or exceeded the 2025 plan. The hospital has not experienced any shortages of medicines, supplies, or medical equipment affecting medical examination and treatment.

In addition to fully implementing district-level techniques, the hospital routinely maintains many advanced techniques from provincial and central levels in the fields of intensive care, surgery, and orthopedics.

In particular, 2025 marks a breakthrough with the deployment of many new, advanced techniques such as: endoscopic spinal surgery, coronary, cerebral, and visceral vascular interventions under DSA guidance; contributing to reducing the burden on higher-level hospitals, creating convenience and saving costs for patients.

Following the merger of Cua Lo Town Medical Center, Facility 3 was quickly reorganized, its infrastructure upgraded, and its examination and treatment procedures reformed. Electronic medical records were implemented, and the rotation of high-quality personnel was strengthened. As a result, the quality of medical examination and treatment improved significantly, and the number of patients doubled compared to the same period in 2024.

The hospital has also completed and put into operation a 6-story on-demand treatment area at its first facility with a capacity of 70 beds, which has been comprehensively invested in terms of infrastructure, equipment, and personnel, contributing to expanding high-tech services, increasing legitimate revenue, and gradually improving the income of officials, employees, and workers.

Professional regulations and industry guidelines are strictly implemented; the rights of patients, especially those covered by health insurance, are guaranteed. The application of information technology is promoted, and medical examination and treatment information is publicly and transparently available through the BVTPVINH APP, with patient satisfaction consistently exceeding 95%. Furthermore, hospital quality management, referral systems, scientific research, and administrative reform/digital transformation have all achieved positive results.

The year 2026 is projected to continue to be a year of many difficulties and challenges for Vinh City General Hospital. This is the second year of implementing the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress of the Hospital, term 2025-2030, in the context of deteriorating infrastructure at all three facilities, and insufficient machinery, equipment, and human resources to meet the requirements of medical examination and treatment in the new situation.

The hospital continues to operate under the Group II financial autonomy mechanism when the prices of medical examination and treatment services are not calculated correctly and comprehensively; many mechanisms and policies related to the settlement of health insurance costs between ministries and sectors are still inconsistent...

In light of this reality, with the high spirit of solidarity and unity of all cadres, Party members, officials, and employees; and the proactive, creative, and flexible management of the leadership team, Vinh City General Hospital is determined to overcome difficulties, seize opportunities, proactively anticipate the situation, and strive to complete and exceed the tasks and targets of the 2026 plan.

Dr. Nguyen Hong Truong, Party Secretary and Director of the Hospital, emphasized: “In 2026, the hospital has identified its key tasks: Focusing on effectively implementing the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress of the Hospital and the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels; improving the leadership and management capacity of the hospital and departments. At the same time, gradually building Vinh City General Hospital to meet the criteria of advanced technical expertise in the direction of “smart - professional - modern”, with a scale of 1,000 beds across all three facilities.”

The hospital prioritizes investment and in-depth development in several key specialties; expanding types of medical examination and treatment services on demand, increasing legitimate and justifiable revenue sources; gradually improving the income of officials, employees, and workers, while ensuring full benefits for those participating in health insurance. The goal is to build a Party Committee within the hospital that excels in fulfilling its nhiệm vụ (tasks) in 2026.”

On this occasion, the Hospital Party Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to one Party branch and 29 Party members for "Outstanding Performance in Completing Tasks" in 2025.
