(Baonghean.vn) - On July 21st, Vinh City General Hospital, in coordination with the Yen Thanh District Youth Union, provided free medical examinations and medication to 200 war invalids, policy beneficiaries, and people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution in Ly Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district).

Despite the rain and the fact that Ly Thanh commune is quite far from the district center, volunteer doctors and nurses from Vinh City General Hospital arrived very early to visit and examine the health of wounded soldiers, war veterans, people who have contributed to the revolution, and relatives of martyrs.

During the program, beneficiaries of social policies received attentive medical examinations including general internal medicine, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, dentistry, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, ENT endoscopy, capillary blood glucose testing, etc.; they also received advice on proper health care methods and free medication.
It is understood that the total cost of implementing the program is over 50 million VND.
For rural residents in Ly Thanh, who face economic difficulties and have limited opportunities for regular health check-ups, the charitable health check-up program of Vinh City General Hospital is extremely practical; it helps them get a general health check-up and promptly detect and treat dangerous diseases, thereby improving their health.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Pham Van Son – Deputy Director of Vinh City General Hospital – said: The hospital mobilized 20 doctors and nurses, along with some modern equipment such as ultrasound machines, electrocardiographs, ear and nose endoscopes, capillary blood glucose testing machines, etc., with the desire to support people in detecting and screening for diseases and improving their health.
For cases where illness is detected and diagnosed, and treatment is needed, doctors and medical staff will diligently guide people to hospitals for timely treatment and effective healthcare.
This is a meaningful charity program, demonstrating the spirit of remembering those who have contributed to the nation, expressing gratitude to wounded soldiers and those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution, implemented by Vinh City General Hospital on the occasion of the Day of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs, July 27th.
