Vinh City General Hospital examines and provides free medicine to 200 wounded and sick soldiers in Yen Thanh

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 21, Vinh City General Hospital coordinated with Yen Thanh District Youth Union to examine and provide free medicine to 200 wounded soldiers, policy beneficiaries, and people with meritorious services to the revolution in Ly Thanh commune (Yen Thanh).

Although it was raining and Ly Thanh commune was quite far from the district center, volunteer doctors and nurses from Vinh City General Hospital were present very early to visit and examine the health of wounded soldiers, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and relatives of martyrs.

At the program, policy beneficiaries were visited by dedicated doctors and nurses, given general internal medicine, eye, ear, nose, throat, maxillofacial examinations, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, ear, nose, throat endoscopy, capillary blood sugar testing, etc.; were advised on proper health care methods and given free medicine.

It is known that the total cost of implementing the program is over 50 million VND.

For the rural people in Ly Thanh, whose economy is still difficult and they have little opportunity to visit and have regular health check-ups, the charity health check-up program of Vinh General Hospital has a very practical meaning; it helps them have a general health check-up and promptly detect and treat dangerous diseases, improving their health.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Pham Van Son - Deputy Director of Vinh City General Hospital said: The hospital mobilized 20 doctors, along with a number of modern machines and equipment such as ultrasound, electrocardiogram, ear-nose endoscopy, capillary blood sugar testing machine...; with the desire to support people in detecting, screening diseases and improving health.

In cases where a disease is detected and diagnosed and treatment is needed, doctors will enthusiastically guide people to the hospital for timely treatment and effective health care.

This is a meaningful charity program, demonstrating the spirit of remembering the source of water when drinking, showing gratitude to wounded soldiers and people with revolutionary contributions, carried out by Vinh General Hospital on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27.
