Nghe An Lung Hospitalis a grade II specialized hospital, with 415 planned beds, 700 actual beds, currently has 15 departments, including 11 clinical departments and 04 paraclinical departments, 7 functional rooms.

The hospital is fully equipped with machinery and equipment; facilities are being invested in construction. Currently, the hospital has deployed many technical categories to gradually meet the needs of medical examination, treatment and health care for people in Nghe An province and neighboring provinces. Every year, Nghe An Lung Hospital detects and receives and treats an average of about 2,100 patients.tuberculosis patientall forms. The cure and successful treatment rate is over 90%, the sputum test rate/population is maintained at > 1%. The number of tuberculosis patients tends to decrease by 5-10% each year.

In order to gradually provide comprehensive care and treatment for respiratory diseases, the establishment of a thoracic surgery department at Nghe An Lung Hospital is extremely necessary. From this urgent need, Nghe An Lung Hospital signed a cooperation agreement, providing professional support and transferring techniques in the field of thoracic surgery with the Central Lung Hospital.

Implementing cooperation and professional support, the Central Lung Hospital coordinated with Nghe An Lung Hospital to conduct a survey and assess the current needs of human resources, facilities, and equipment of Nghe An Lung Hospital in establishing the Department of Thoracic Surgery and the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation.

The Central Lung Hospital commits to fully support Nghe An Lung Hospital in training human resources, providing technical expertise and necessary equipment (if any) to establish and develop the Department of Thoracic Surgery, the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation in particular and the hospital in general.

Nghe An Lung Hospital completes legal procedures to submit to competent authorities and prioritizes resources to establish the Department of Thoracic Surgery and the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation; arranges adequate human resources to participate in transferring techniques and new knowledge to improve professional knowledge in medical examination and treatment for people.

Nghe An Department of Health will advise the Provincial People's Committee on policies and mechanisms to support Nghe An Lung Hospital in building facilities, equipment and medical human resources; direct specialized departments and affiliated units to coordinate and help Nghe An Lung Hospital develop comprehensively./.
