The mystery surrounding the second meeting between Trump and Putin.

According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a second, previously undisclosed, dialogue.

This dialogue took place during a dinner for G20 leaders attending the group's summit earlier this month in Germany, Reuters reported, citing a White House official on July 18.

Earlier, the two leaders held a two-hour formal meeting. Trump later stated that Putin had denied allegations that he had directed efforts to interfere in the 2016 US presidential election.

White House officials did not disclose how long the second round of talks lasted or what issues the two leaders discussed.

Meanwhile, CNN quoted Michael Anton, spokesman for the National Security Council, as saying, "There was a social dinner at the G20 summit. At the end of the evening, the President spoke with Mr. Putin at dinner."

According to Anton, there were no staff or cabinet members from any country at the dinner, except for the interpreters.

He added that the two leaders, the US and the Russians, conversed in the main room where the dinner was taking place, rather than in a private room.

According to Ian Bremmer, president of the political risk consulting firm Eurasia, this dialogue took place during a social dinner for G20 leaders and their spouses.

Television images of the dinner showed U.S. First Lady Melania Trump seated next to Russian President Putin.

Bremmer said that, midway through the dinner, Trump left his seat and spent about an hour talking with Putin “privately and animatedly.” The only person present was President Putin’s interpreter.
