The main symptom is a stiff, extended lower leg with the toes curling downwards. The cramping usually lasts only a few seconds, but can sometimes extend to half an hour or even an hour.

This condition can disrupt sleep. In some cases, persistent and involuntary cramps that cause loss of mobility can be life-threatening, such as while swimming or operating machinery.

Next, use your thumbs to gently and gradually increase the pressure on the Chengshan and Chenggan acupoints for 1 minute each, then use the base of your hand to press on the calf muscles for 2 minutes.
