(Baonghean.vn) - In Bac Nhan hamlet, Tho Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district), Party branch secretary Tran Van Nhan is highly respected by many for his dedication and wholehearted commitment to public affairs. In particular, during the new rural development program, he has invested considerable effort and employed effective methods to mobilize the people to actively contribute to the local efforts in fulfilling the program's criteria.

Mr. Tran Van Nhan was born and raised in a family with a rich revolutionary tradition; his father and paternal uncle were martyrs in the resistance war against the US. Although only 54 years old, Mr. Nhan has been a Party member for nearly 30 years. From adulthood to the present day, he has always actively participated in local movements, from being the Youth Union secretary to the platoon leader of the commune's self-defense militia; he was also a representative of the Commune People's Council. Notably, for the past 14 consecutive years, he has been entrusted with the position of Secretary of the Bac Nhan hamlet Party branch.

Coming from a farming family with modest economic conditions, besides cultivating 7 acres of leased land, Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen had to supplement their income through farming and livestock raising to provide for their four children's education. However, as the head of the Party branch, he always dedicated much of his time to village affairs; working tirelessly in the fields, and collaborating with the Party branch to develop policies and solutions to improve the lives of the people and contribute to the prosperity of the village.

In 2013, Tho Thanh commune planned to expand the inter-commune road connecting Do, Tho, and Ma, with a section of over 1 km passing through Bac Nhan hamlet. To ensure the roadbed was wide enough (8 meters), many households had to demolish their embankments and outbuildings, including his family. With the pioneering and exemplary spirit of a Party member, he encouraged his wife and children to donate 40 square meters of land.2Residential land can be used to build roads without requiring compensation from the local government.

In early 2016, Mr. Tran Van Nhan's family continued to donate nearly 200 square meters of land to build a road connecting the hamlets.

In early 2016, Tho Thanh commune planned a 5-meter-wide inter-hamlet road, with a 1,600-meter section passing through Bac Nhan, cutting across the gardens of Mr. Tran's family and many other families. Faced with this situation, the Party branch committee, the hamlet's leadership committee, and the Fatherland Front committee held numerous meetings to find solutions to overcome the difficulties and implement mass mobilization efforts, emphasizing that each Party member must first and foremost demonstrate exemplary leadership.

In the spirit of "Party members lead the way, the people follow," his family once again took the lead in donating another 190 square meters of land.2The land was donated to the village for road construction. In an era where "every inch of land is worth its weight in gold," the fact that his family donated so much land, worth hundreds of millions of dong, is truly unbelievable to many. But for Mr. Nhan, it's a normal thing to do; the donated land is considered a gift to future generations.

The rural road construction movement in Bac Nhan hamlet has attracted other units to come and learn from its experience.

Recently, Bac Nhan hamlet began constructing a 400-meter concrete road. Facing difficulties due to insufficient funds raised through community contributions, Mr. [Name] voluntarily lent the hamlet 106 million VND from his family's savings without interest to purchase an additional 26 tons of cement and pay for labor. Once again, the story of this Party branch secretary spread throughout the village, creating a strong impetus for the local new rural development movement.

Following the example of Secretary Nhan's family, in a short period of time, the villagers voluntarily donated 1,670 square meters of land.2The land, including that of Ms. Vo Thi Vien, a former Youth Volunteer, who, despite living alone, voluntarily dismantled part of her house to allow the village to build the road, can be said to have proceeded very smoothly and beyond the expectations of the local authorities.

Mr. Chu Minh Ly, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tho Thanh commune, commented: "Mr. Nhan's voluntary land donation has inspired all Party members and the general public to follow suit. Although land clearance was very difficult in the past, thanks to the mobilization of the entire population, people have become more aware of their responsibility in building new rural areas, especially the movement of donating land for road construction and contributing labor has been widely replicated. As a result, in the first six months of the year, Tho Thanh commune completed the clearance of 19 km of village roads and is continuing to strive to complete the concrete paving of rural roads in 2016."

Not only is he active in his work and has donated land for road construction, Mr. Tran Van Nhan is also a role model in economic development, guiding and sharing his experience with the people to replicate effective business models. Currently, his family raises 50 laying geese, 2 breeding cows, and hundreds of chickens and ducks, earning over 100 million VND per year. Mr. Tran Van Nhan deserves the role of an exemplary Party branch secretary, working together with the people to build a more civilized and prosperous homeland.
