The Secretary of the Thai Nguyen City Party Committee has been prosecuted.
Mr. Phan Manh Cuong, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen City Party Committee, has been found to have advised and proposed actions contrary to regulations on financial management and use, causing serious consequences.
Mr. Cuong wasprosecutecrimeIrresponsibility causing damage to state property.c. according to Article 179 of the Penal Code.
According to the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, this is a development in the case of Negligence Causing Serious Consequences, which was initiated on December 30, 2021. All decisions of the investigating side have been approved by the prosecutor's office.

Previously, on August 20, 2021, the Inspection Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee reviewed, discussed, and approved the results of the investigation into alleged violations by the Party Committee of Thai Nguyen Industrial Zones, term 2010-2015, and Mr. Phan Manh Cuong, former Head of the Management Board of Industrial Zones and Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Industrial Zones, period 2010-2020.
The Party Committee of Thai Nguyen Industrial Zones has been found to have violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lacking responsibility in leadership, direction, inspection, and supervision, allowing the Management Board of Thai Nguyen Industrial Zones and Party members to violate laws regarding the management and use of finances and investment in construction.
The Thai Nguyen Provincial Inspection Committee concluded that Mr. Phan Manh Cuong bears primary responsibility, as the head, for the violations and shortcomings of the Party Committee of the Industrial Zones in Thai Nguyen Province.
Mr. Cuong was found to have violated the principle of democratic centralism; lacked responsibility in performing his duties; and advised and proposed actions contrary to the regulations of the Party and the laws of the State in the management and use of finances and in construction investment.
