Nguyen Khac Than, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, participated in the high-level Vietnamese delegation on an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
On the evening of April 9th, Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Member of the Political Bureau and Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived at Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, beginning their official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The official delegation included members of the Politburo: Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Le Hoai Trung - Minister of Foreign Affairs; Doan Minh Huan - Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; along with other members of the Central Committee of the Party and leaders of central ministries and agencies.
Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, participated in the delegation.
Welcoming Standing Committee member Tran Cam Tu at Techo International Airport, Phnom Penh, on the Cambodian side were: Standing Committee member and Head of the Central Organization Department of the Cambodian People's Party Som Soeun; Central Committee member, Head of the Historical Research Department of the Cambodian People's Party, Minister attached to the Prime Minister Keo Baphom; and Director of the Administration Department, Central Office of the Cambodian People's Party Keo Lyhul.
On the Vietnamese side were the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia, Nguyen Minh Vu, embassy staff, and members of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.
In an atmosphere of warm friendship, Cambodian girls presented jasmine flowers to the Standing Committee member of the Party Central Committee, wishing him good luck according to Cambodian tradition; the staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community warmly welcomed the Standing Committee member of the Party Central Committee and the high-level Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to Cambodia.
The visit by the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee took place at a time of profound political and cultural significance, immediately after Vietnam successfully held the 14th Party Congress, the 16th National Assembly elections and the People's Council elections at all levels, completed the restructuring of the leadership apparatus and implemented new strategic directions; and coincided with the Cambodian people celebrating their traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year.
