Wanted, 'rice broker' who defrauded farmers has turned himself in

Danh Quanh (residing in Van Thanh hamlet, Hon Dat commune, An Giang province) is a subject wanted by the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang province for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
According to the case file, around December 2023 and January 2024, Danh Quanh and a number of other subjects did not have any cultivated land but discussed together to lead 7 rice buyers to land plots of people in Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province (now An Giang province) to sign many rice purchase and sale contracts and appropriated a total of over 5.7 billion VND in rice deposits.
The Investigation Police Agency of Hon Dat District Police has issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue an arrest warrant to temporarily detain Danh Quanh for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property". However, Quanh has fled the locality. On July 16, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police issued a wanted notice for Quanh.
The case is currently being further investigated by the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police to clarify the roles of the subjects involved in the case for handling according to the provisions of law.
