That is the invention of a device that captures exhaust from diesel generators and turns it into ink. The device, attached to the generator, captures up to 90% of the soot particles from diesel exhaust. This material can then be sold to ink manufacturers.

Chakr Innovation has installed 53 units for government companies, earning 11 million rupees (about $163,000) in the first year. The company has also sold more than 500 kg of soot, which is used to make more than 20 liters of ink.

India is considered to have some of the most polluted cities in the world. The pollution situation is worse during the summer when diesel generators run continuously to minimize power shortages.
