Turn diesel fumes into ink.
A team of Indian engineers has found a way to not only reduce pollution but also transform exhaust fumes from diesel generators into something useful.

This invention involves a device that collects exhaust gases from diesel generators and converts them into ink. The device is attached to the generator and captures up to 90% of the particulate matter from the diesel exhaust. This material can then be sold to ink manufacturers.
Chakr Innovation installed 53 devices for government companies, earning 11 million Rupees (approximately $163,000) in its first year. The company also sold over 500kg of soot, which is used to produce more than 20 liters of ink.
India is considered to have some of the most polluted cities in the world. The pollution is exacerbated during the summer months when diesel generators operate continuously to mitigate electricity shortages.
