VTV editor 'attacked' by Quang Linh Vlogs fans
VTV's BTV Son Lam and Thu Hien have locked their personal Facebook pages due to reactions from the online community, including Quang Linh Vlogs fans, about the issue of false advertising.
Editors Son Lam and Thu Hien of Vietnam Television (VTV) are facing a wave of backlash from the online community, especially fans of Quang Linh Vlogs, after the program "Chuyen Dong 24h" aired a news report about the issue of false advertising on social networks.

The incident originated from the news.Weekly scorewith the themeLivestream or lie-stream?broadcast at noon on March 15th24h Movement, led by Editor Son Lam and Thu Hien. The content of the news report mentions the reality of many KOLs (influencers) advertising products falsely, causing many mixed opinions in public.
Immediately after the program aired, the VTV24 fanpage and the two editors' personal Facebook pages became the targets of "attacks" by many Quang Linh Vlogs fans. Many people thought that Son Lam and Thu Hien had made sarcastic and even insulting comments about Quang Linh and Hang Du Muc in the news.

On the evening of March 16, BTV Son Lam posted a video on TikTok to explain the incident. He affirmed that his family is also a fan of Quang Linh Vlogs, but he emphasized: "Each job has its own purpose, everything needs to be clear and distinct. Praise when you praise, blame when you blame.

In the video, the male editor cited the Press Law on the functions and powers of the press in detecting and promoting good people, while fighting against violations of the law and negative phenomena in society. He expressed his belief that good and talented people like Quang Linh will not easily "degenerate" and will know how to listen and correct mistakes when they stumble.
Notably, Son Lam also revealed that the Quang Linh Vlogs group had contacted and apologized for unintentionally dragging him into this noisy incident. He also publicly revealed a message from Quang Linh Vlogs sent through a colleague.
After posting the explanatory video, BTV Son Lam's TikTok account was changed to private mode. At the same time, BTV Thu Hien also locked the comments section on her personal TikTok videos.
According to research, some fans of Quang Linh Vlogs "dug up" previous statements of BTV Son Lam, including the fact that he publicly expressed his admiration for Quang Linh on television in 2022. This made them feel that Son Lam "turned his back" and had a "turnaround" attitude towards his idol.

At the meeting, all three admitted their mistakes in providing false product information. The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has drawn up a record of administrative sanctions against Pham Quang Linh and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang for false advertising, causing confusion about the announced quality.
