The beautiful old villa, with an area of over 800 square meters and nearly 100 years old, of the tycoon on Hang Be street in the early 20th century still retains its old architectural style.

According to Ms. Truong Thi Mo (born 1924, Hang Be, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi), the villa of more than 800 square meters was built by her parents - who were famous contractors in many fields - in 1925, when she was only 1 year old.

The villa has typical French colonial architectural culture but still has many details designed to suit Vietnamese culture.

The villa has two main and secondary blocks occupying most of the land area.

The rest is garden, walkway...

The villa is built on 2 floors with many functional spaces such as: parking space, kitchen, warehouses and servants' quarters, living room, family room, dining room, playground...

Ms. Truong Thi Mo - the daughter of the villa owner, shared that after many historical changes, currently, in addition to her family, the villa also has people from other places living there. Ms. Mo's family only manages and uses an area of over 200 square meters.

The interior of the villa, such as the floor, columns, and furniture, are all made of ironwood. The area managed by Mrs. Mo's family is still almost intact.

The central area has a large skylight to ensure all rooms in the villa have light.

The second floor includes bedrooms, a worship room and a balcony. Ms. Truong Thi Mo said that the office and library are located on the first floor. This villa is warm in winter and cool in summer.

Stairs leading up to the second floor area of the house.

The staircase is made of wood, although it is nearly 100 years old, it is still quite good, not damaged by termites. There are 2 staircases like this in the villa, leading to the two main houses.

The furniture in Mrs. Mo’s mother’s bedroom is still the same as when she was alive. According to Mrs. Mo, this bedroom can be connected to the adjacent rooms through a door system. Although living nearly a century ago, Mrs. Mo’s mother had a very modern lifestyle. The bedroom furniture from the dressing table, wardrobe, bed are all designed in French style.

In addition, the room is also furnished with a set of drinking water tables and chairs, a wooden shelf for flower vases and a chest of drawers. Mrs. Mo said that they are all as old as the villa.

Inside this bedroom is a bronze bed that Mrs. Mo’s father ordered from Hong Kong (China). This bed has a beautiful velvet curtain. Mrs. Mo’s mother loved this bed very much during her lifetime.

The family altar of Mrs. Mo still has enough horizontal lacquered boards and parallel sentences...

Mrs. Mo's daughter introduced us to the family's altar room. These ironwood altars were all from the time Mrs. Mo's parents first built the villa.

The railing is made of patterned wrought iron combined with ironwood pillars.

This bedroom has an additional small hallway, overlooking the villa's annex. The house also has a parking lot, kitchen, warehouse, servants' quarters and a restroom for them. Mrs. Mo shared that at that time, her family had a good chef who could cook dishes from Europe to Asia, a driver, 3 nannies and 3 boys who ran errands. Her parents treated the servants very kindly, considering them as family members.

Like many contemporary villas, Mrs. Mo's family villa was painted yellow and the door was painted blue.

Beautiful patterns create liveliness for the villa space.

In particular, on the first floor of the house, the owner arranged 4 pillars made of monolithic stone, carved with sophisticated patterns. This is a blend of Western and Vietnamese architectural culture.
