According to NBC News, the US government yesterday released 113 documents and letters seized on May 2, 2011, during a raid on the hideout of terrorist leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.mainly during the period 2009 - 2011,Translated and declassified by US intelligence agencies.
In one letter, bin Laden expressed concern about his wife visiting the dentist while in Iran. He worried that a tracking chip might be implanted in her dental filling. "The chip is the size of a grain of wheat, the width of a strand of noodle," he wrote. The letter concluded with the instruction: "Destroy this letter after reading."
In another document, bin Laden instructed all members of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization holding Afghan hostages to be wary of tracking technology that might be embedded in the ransom money. "It is important to discard the suitcases containing the money, due to the possibility that they are tagged," bin Laden wrote to an assistant named S.Haykh Mahmud.
Referring to the armed American drones patrolling the skies, the terrorist leader advised his negotiators not to leave their rented house in Peshawar, Pakistan, unless "the sky is cloudy."
U.S. President Barack Obama said drone strikes and other counterterrorism operations had weakened al-Qaeda's leadership, culminating in the killing of bin Laden by U.S. Navy SEALs on May 2, 2011. In the years that followed, the terrorist organization continued to operate from Afghanistan to North Africa, while the Islamic State, an ideological rival to al-Qaeda, grew and expanded its territory.
