Due to posting fabricated and false comments on social media that affected the reputation of the police force and public opinion, a man residing in Kim Lien commune was recently fined 7.5 million VND by the commune police.

Accordingly, during the intensified campaign to combat and suppress crime, the Kim Lien Commune Police, in coordination with the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police, strengthened the review and handling of harmful and malicious information on the internet.

Upon review, authorities discovered that in the article "Nghe An Traffic Police organize random draws for candidates to choose vehicles and computers for driving test sections" posted on the "Nghe An 24H" fanpage, a personal Facebook account had posted numerous comments containing fabricated and false information, causing misunderstanding among the public regarding the driving test organization activities of the Traffic Police Department - Nghe An Provincial Police; negatively impacting the image of the police force and the healthy information environment.cyberspace.

The police investigated and identified the owner of the Facebook account as Mr. PVC (born in 1989), residing in Kim Lien commune.

At the police station, Mr. C. admitted that on December 10, 2025, after viewing an article related to the organization of driver's license exams by the Traffic Police Department, he posted a comment containing false information that insulted the reputation and honor of the police force.

Based on the violation, the Kim Lien Commune Police issued an administrative penalty decision against Mr. PVC for the amount of 7,500,000 VND for the act of "Using social networks to provide and share false information, slander, and insult the reputation of agencies and organizations," as stipulated in point a, clause 1, Article 101 of Government Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree No. 14/2022/ND-CP).

In the coming period, the Kim Lien Commune Police will continue to strengthen monitoring and supervision of cyberspace to promptly detect, prevent, and strictly handle acts of posting and sharing harmful, toxic, and false information, contributing to maintaining security, order, and a healthy information environment.
