A group of about 10 masked individuals stormed into a house and illegally detained four people, including two French nationals, to demand payment of a debt.

On March 28, the Can Tho City Police announced that the investigative agency had arrested eight individuals for the crime of "illegal detention" to extort money.

The eight arrested individuals include: Nguyen Van Tuan (Tuan Hero, 42 years old), Ngo Nguyen Thanh Tuan (48 years old), Nguyen Minh Vuong (32 years old), Le Van Duong (31 years old), Nguyen Phuoc Thuan (35 years old, all residing in Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Ba An (29 years old, residing in Ba Ria - Vung Tau), Nguyen Thanh Hieu (31 years old, residing in Binh Thuan), and Le Quoc Tuan (29 years old).

This group brazenly abducted four people, including two French nationals, to demand payment of a debt.

At approximately 7:20 AM on March 26th, police discovered a group of about 10 people wearing face masks, traveling in 3 cars, climbing over the fence and breaking down the door of a house in the An Thoi residential area, on Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, Binh Thuy District. Inside, they apprehended 4 people (including 2 French nationals) and took them towards Ho Chi Minh City.

Following an investigation, at approximately 8:00 AM on the same day, the Can Tho City Police arrested Tuan Hero and Thanh Tuan while they were in Long Ho District, Vinh Long Province.

Continuing the pursuit, the police force apprehended the remaining suspects and safely rescued the four people who had been held captive.

Initial investigations revealed that the four arrested individuals owed Tuan Hero approximately 7 billion VND. Unable to repay the debt, they fled to Can Tho City.

However, he was tracked down and apprehended by Tuan's group to collect a debt. "After more than a day, the Can Tho City Police clarified the case and immediately arrested 8 individuals involved in the illegal detention," Can Tho Police said.
