Bloomberg points out NATO's weakest point
(Baonghean.vn) - According to Bloomberg news agency, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is looking to strengthen border security at its most vulnerable location, on the Black Sea coast of Romania.

Currently, about 200 allied soldiers from France, Belgium and the Netherlands are actively involved in technical work in Transylvania (Romania). After Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, NATO member countries decided that one of the poorest regions of Europe could not be left without defense capabilities. According to experts, the Black Sea for Russia is "the gateway to the Mediterranean, as well as a way to influence the countries of the Middle East and Africa".
Analyst Matthew Orr from Stratfor (USA) commented that Moscow prioritizes the Southeast European region. He said: "Russia is extremely keen to have a strong military presence in this region, so NATO must respond to Moscow's move."
According to media reports, after Russia began its military campaign in Ukraine, NATO member countries agreed to establish four new battle groups for Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania. For Romania, the cost of building infrastructure in this country will be at least 12.2 billion USD, of which the Patriot air defense missile system will cost the most./.
