It appears that the 8 Series is ready for BMW's public debut later this year, as real-life images of the car have just surfaced.

Finally, the BMW 8 Series has been revealed in real-life images after a long period of being spotted in camouflage during street testing.

Based on the previously unveiled concept, the design is more "commercial" but retains elements of the concept such as the slim headlights and large chrome grille. The front bumper has also been redesigned for a more "conventional" feel, and the rearview mirrors are designed for public transport and incorporate turn signals.

The car's sporty design continues with the rear bumper and symmetrical dual exhaust pipes. Slim LED taillights and a rear bumper with black trim extending upwards on the tailgate are also visible.

Although the image quality isn't great, viewers can still make out the car bearing the 850i logo. This means the coupe is equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 445 horsepower and 648 Nm of torque.

It will go into production later this year, alongside the convertible variant and the M8. The M8 is currently under development, and BMW M division boss Frank van Meel says it could be more powerful than the BMW M5, meaning over 600 horsepower and 748 Nm more torque.
