Barcelona's attacking trio was far superior to Real Madrid's.

Statistics on goals show that the MSN trio (Messi - Suarez - Neymar) have been far more effective than their BBC counterparts since the beginning of this season.

Messi, Suarez, and Neymar have scored 17 goals in total. Messi has eight, Suarez has seven, and Neymar has two.

Meanwhile, injuries and coach Zidane's squad rotation strategy have meant that the BBC trio (Benzema, Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo) have only scored five goals so far.

The main reason for Real Madrid's poor goal-scoring record is that they haven't been able to play as much as in previous seasons. Gareth Bale has only played 321 minutes out of Real's total of 540 minutes since the start of the season.

Despite playing less than 60% of the match time, the Welsh forward still outperformed Karim Benzema (41%) and Cristiano Ronaldo (30%) in this regard.

However, Barca's MSN trio also had their own problems. Neymar joined the training camp late due to his commitments with the national team at the Olympics, while Messi suffered a hip injury.

Despite not benefiting much from the goals of their three attacking stars, Real Madrid are currently leading the table with 12 points after four rounds. Meanwhile, Barcelona only have nine points after losing 1-2 to Alaves in the third round.

With Bale and Ronaldo back in training, the BBC trio are fully fit to participate in the match against Villarreal on September 21st. That same evening, Barca will also have a fierce clash with Atletico Madrid.
