The Politburo approves the new Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee.

On August 3rd, in Ben Tre province, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Organization Department - chaired a conference.Implementing the Politburo's decisions on personnel matters.

According to Decision No. 1217, dated May 9th, the Politburo approved the retirement of Mr. Vo Thanh Hao, Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, effective August 1st, 2019. Decision No. 1418, dated July 26th, of the Politburo approved the appointment of Mr. Phan Van Mai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial People's Council, as Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term.

Acting on behalf of the Politburo, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh presented the Decisions to Mr. Vo Thanh Hao and Mr. Phan Van Mai.

Mr. Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of Mr. Vo Thanh Hao during his more than 40 years of service. Regardless of his position or nhiệm vụ, Mr. Vo Thanh Hao always successfully fulfilled the political tasks entrusted to him by the Party and the people.

Mr. Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Mr. Phan Van Mai on his appointment as Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee. He is a young cadre who has risen through the ranks of the grassroots youth movement, received basic training, and has held various positions at both the central and local levels.

Mr. Pham Minh Chinh expressed his confidence that, in his new position, the Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, Phan Van Mai, will continue to build upon the achievements and experiences of his predecessors; and together with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, will focus on leading the successful implementation of political tasks in the locality.

Mr. Phan Van Mai, born in 1973, is from Thanh Phu Dong commune, Giong Trom district, Ben Tre province. His political theory qualifications are at the advanced level; his professional qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages, a Bachelor's degree in Economics, and a Master's degree in Economics. Before being approved by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Phan Van Mai held various positions such as: Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Youth Union, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial People's Council.
