The Politburo announces decisions on personnel matters.

Also attending were Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Member of the Political Bureau and Standing Secretary of the Central Committee; members of the Political Bureau and Secretaries of the Central Committee: Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organization Department; Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Central Party Office; Trinh Van Quyet, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; and members of the Central Committee, representing the leadership of central departments, agencies, and organizations.

In order to consolidate personnel work after the 14th National Congress, on January 30, 2026, the Politburo met and unanimously agreed to assign and appoint several Politburo members to new positions.

According to the Politburo's decisions: Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member and Secretary of the 13th Central Committee of the Party, is relieved of his duties as: Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Waste, and Negative Phenomena; and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Judicial Reform; Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member of the 13th Party Congress, is relieved of his duties as Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy.

The Politburo assigned, appointed, and designated Comrade Le Minh Tri, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, to hold the following positions: Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Waste, and Negative Phenomena; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Judicial Reform; Member of the Central Subcommittee on Internal Political Security; and Member of the Steering Committee for summarizing some theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented reform work in Vietnam over the past 40 years.

The Politburo has assigned, appointed, and designated Comrade Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Politburo and Permanent Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, to the following positions: Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation; and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for summarizing some theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented reform work in Vietnam over the past 40 years.

General Secretary To Lam presented the Politburo's decision and flowers to comrades Le Minh Tri and Doan Minh Huan; and flowers to comrades Phan Dinh Trac and Nguyen Xuan Thang.

On behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary To Lam congratulated comrades Phan Dinh Trac and Nguyen Xuan Thang on successfully completing their assigned tasks. He emphasized that the Politburo and the Secretariat acknowledge the dedicated, intelligent, and courageous contributions of these comrades during the 13th National Congress term; they will continue to participate in some tasks assigned by the Politburo and the Secretariat until they have completed their retirement period.

Emphasizing that the tasks ahead are numerous and arduous, requiring great effort to complete, the General Secretary expressed his hope that the comrades would continue to dedicate themselves, contribute, offer suggestions, and exchange experiences with succeeding generations, especially in the fields where they have become experts and experienced leaders; working together for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the People; successfully implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, leading our country steadily towards socialism, for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, civilization, and happiness.

Congratulating comrades Le Minh Tri and Doan Minh Huan on their new appointments by the Politburo, the General Secretary affirmed that both comrades are experienced leaders; they have grown up in agencies with different functions and tasks; and were elected to the Central Committee and then to the Politburo by the 14th National Congress. Comrade Le Minh Tri has been assigned to work in many agencies and fields within the internal affairs sector. Comrade Doan Minh Huan has also dedicated many years to the Party's theoretical research agencies and participated in practical guidance work at the local level. In the past period, with the support, assistance, and favorable conditions created by the members of the 13th Politburo; the leadership of the Central Internal Affairs Committee, and the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, with unity, cohesion, effort, and very positive contributions, the comrades have contributed to the achievements of the agencies and units where they work.

The General Secretary expressed confidence that, with their extensive experience in the assigned fields and the support and assistance of agencies and units, especially the Party's committees, government agencies, the National Assembly, localities, and the entire political system, the comrades will make important contributions to the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat in continuing to lead and direct internal affairs work, the fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena, and judicial reform; to develop the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy strongly, making it a truly high-level Party school and a national center for training and fostering cadres and conducting theoretical research for the Party; to effectively combat and refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints; and to firmly protect the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation.

On behalf of the newly appointed comrades, Comrade Le Minh Tri expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Politburo and the General Secretary, and pledged, with a spirit of urgency and action, to implement the strategic decisions of the 14th National Congress, and to resolutely strive to fulfill the assigned tasks.

Building upon the experience and methods of his predecessors, Comrade Le Minh Tri affirmed the continued renewal of thinking and approach, focusing on directing the agencies, sectors, and fields under his responsibility; coordinating with central and local committees, ministries, and agencies; and improving the quality of strategic advice to the Central Party Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat on combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena; judicial reform; and the Party's theoretical work, as well as developing new Party guidelines, decisions, and policies to serve leadership and guidance in order to achieve three goals: social stability; rapid and sustainable national development; and better care for the people's lives.
