Nghe An Provincial Border Guard won second prize in the neighboring country's language contest.
On November 15, in Hanoi, the Border Guard Command held the closing ceremony of the 2024 Border Guard Language Contest for neighboring countries (China, Laos, Cambodia).
Major General Nguyen Van Thien - Deputy Commander of the Border Guard attended and delivered the closing speech of the contest.
The Command-level competition had 9 participating units, including: Border Guards of the provinces: Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Kon Tum, Dak Nong, Tay Ninh, with 110 comrades.

With elaborate investment in powerpoint presentations, video clips, props, singing and dancing, illustrations of some of the unit's activities; combining the use of neighboring countries' languages with performing tasks... the performances participating in the contest have demonstrated and spread the solidarity and attachment between the State, Army, and People of Vietnam with neighboring countries, especially in border areas.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Border Guard Command to 9 groups and 9 individuals.
Of which, the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Team won second prize in the Lao language category; Professional military Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Dao, an interpreter at the Provincial Border Guard Staff Office, won third prize individually.

In his closing speech, Major General Nguyen Van Thien - Deputy Commander of the Border Guard praised the organizing committee, the Border Guard Command agencies, and the Border Guard schools for their good preparation and careful management of the contest, and also praised the contestants for upholding their sense of responsibility and overcoming all difficulties to successfully complete the contest.

Major General Nguyen Van Thien suggested that, through the results of the contest, the delegations continue to advise the Party Committee and Command of their units to effectively carry out foreign language training and fostering in general, and neighboring languages in particular, and apply them effectively in the process of performing tasks at the unit, especially in coordination in border management and protection, border gates and foreign affairs, contributing to enhancing solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the State, Army and People of Vietnam with the State, Army and People of China, Laos and Cambodia.
