Michael Jackson's father passed away

A representative of the Jackson family confirmed the news of Joe Jackson's death onIndependent: "We are deeply saddened by Mr. Jackson's passing and offer our sincere condolences to Katherine Jackson and his family. Joe was a strong man who always acknowledged his shortcomings and heroically took his children from the steel mills of Gary, Indiana to the position of pop stars recognized around the world." Joe Jackson passed away at the age of 89.
