Appointment of Director for SOS Children's Village Vinh

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 20th, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha attended the ceremony and presented the Decision appointing the Director of SOS Children's Village Vinh.

Also attending the ceremony were: Mr. Le Minh Giang - National Director of SOS Children's Villages Vietnam; Mr. Doan Hong Vu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; and representatives of leaders from agencies and units in the province.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha presented the Decision appointing Mr. Le Ba Luong as Director of SOS Children's Village Vinh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha acknowledged the contributions of generations of staff and leaders of SOS Children's Village Vinh in the care and education of children over the years, and affirmed the continuous development of SOS Children's Village Vinh within the SOS Children's Villages Vietnam system.

The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that, in the coming time, with a spirit of love for the profession, affection for children, and wholehearted dedication to children, the new Director Le Ba Luong will continue to build upon the achievements of previous generations of leaders, care for the comprehensive development of disadvantaged children being cared for at the Village, and build the SOS Children's Village Vinh into an increasingly strong and comprehensive community...

Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Doan Hong Vu, congratulates the new Director of SOS Children's Village Vinh.

The SOS Children's Village Vinh was started in 1990, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth.

Currently, the village has 15 families and 2 youth dormitories, caring for and nurturing 281 orphaned children with particularly difficult circumstances and poor but academically gifted children.

Representatives of the staff, the mothers, and the children being cared for and nurtured at the village took a commemorative photo.

To date, SOS Children's Village Vinh has cared for, nurtured, and educated more than 600 orphaned and homeless children from Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. Among them, 110 have married and have stable, happy family lives. Many of the orphaned children cared for and raised at the village have now become useful members of society, including teachers, doctors, and researchers.
