The Russian Ministry of Defense speaks out about the 'psychological warfare' launched by the US.
The West, led by the United States, has launched a "psychological" war against Russia, said Andrei Ilnitsky, advisor to the Russian Defense Minister, in an interview with the magazine Arsenal Otechestva ("Arms of the Fatherland").
According to him, Western countries are currently avoiding direct confrontation with Russia because, in the event of a conflict, Russia is capable of inflicting immeasurable damage on them with its nuclear weapons and modern military forces.
The minister's advisor added that this is precisely why the West has launched a hybrid war and propaganda campaign against Russia.

"All of this leads to the emergence of a new type of warfare. If in classical warfare the goal was to destroy the enemy's manpower, and in modern cyber warfare the goal was to destroy the enemy's infrastructure, then the goal of this new type of warfare is to destroy the enemy's sense of self, to change their psychological and spiritual foundations – which are also the foundations of their civilized society. I call this psychological warfare," Ilnitsky said.
As the advisor noted, if manpower and infrastructure can be restored, then "the evolution of consciousness is irreversible, especially since the consequences of this 'psychological' war do not appear immediately, but only after at least a generation, at which point it will simply be impossible to do anything to remedy it."
Previously,President Vladimir Putin said that a propaganda campaign is underway abroad.The goal is to counter Russia's achievements. The head of state added that Russia is facing a consistent hostile policy aimed at undermining the country's development and creating problems around Russian territory. As the President noted, this is being done with the "ultimate goal of weakening Russia and gaining control of it from the outside."
