The Ministry of Finance has collected over 1.9 trillion VND in taxes from Metro.

Authorities have collected 1.911 billion VND in taxes from Metro Group following the transfer of METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam.

On the afternoon of January 14th, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung announced that authorities had collected 1,911 billion VND in taxes from Metro Group following the transfer of METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam.

The Minister also stated that, of the total tax revenue, 22% (approximately 400 billion VND) will be allocated to the locality (Ho Chi Minh City) as per regulations, while the remainder will be remitted to the central government budget.

It is understood that METRO Group and TCC Group (Thailand) have completed all procedures to finalize the transfer of METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam. Accordingly, TCC will acquire all of METRO Group's wholesale operations in Vietnam (19 centers and related properties worth 655 million Euros).

METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam officially began operating in the wholesale sector in 2002. Following this franchise agreement, Berli Jucker Public Company Limited (BJC), a subsidiary of TCC Group, will continue to exploit the large and promising market of METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam. Accordingly, METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam will retain its company name and development goals, products, and services as before.
