(Baonghean.vn) - Voters in Que Phong district have requested the Provincial People's Committee to allocate funds for forest planning and protection in the area, including funds for surveying and granting forest land to the people for forestry production development. They also requested that the Provincial People's Committee promptly issue a decision assigning targets and funding for annual forest protection contracts so that the district can proactively organize forest protection contracts.

The plan for forest protection and development in Nghe An province until 2020 was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 5988/QD-UBND.NN dated November 11, 2009; currently, the Provincial People's Committee is considering adjusting the plan to conform with the results of the adjustment of the three types of forests in Nghe An province (approved in Decision No. 48/2014/QD-UBND dated August 15, 2014 of the Provincial People's Committee).

Based on the Forest Protection and Development Plan for Nghe An province until 2020, localities must develop forest protection and development plans at the district level in accordance with regulations to serve the management and development of annual forest protection and development plans in their areas.

However, due to limited funding, the implementation of the planning in the districts has faced many difficulties and has not yet been carried out. The voters' proposal to allocate funds for the planning of forest protection and development in the district, including funds for surveying and allocating forest land to the people for forestry production development, is very necessary. The Provincial People's Committee acknowledges this request and will prioritize considering and allocating funds for its implementation in the near future.

ButRegarding the proposal to promptly decide on the allocation of targets and funding for annual forest protection and management contracts so that the district can proactively organize the awarding of forest protection contracts:

The organization of forest protection and management contracts in the district is a regular and continuous task carried out in stages; therefore, the annual allocation of forest protection budget funds does not affect the organization of forest protection contracts in the district. However, to enable localities to proactively secure funding for annual forest protection and management contracts, the Provincial People's Committee will prioritize allocating funds to localities in the future to provide a basis for preparing the necessary documents and procedures for paying forest protection wages to contracted households according to regulations.
