Minister Huynh Thanh Dat holds the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.

On the morning of February 17th, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel matters. Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Nguyen Trong Nghia, attended the conference.

At the conference, Phan Thăng An, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Department, announced the Politburo's decision on the transfer, assignment, and appointment of Huynh Thanh Dat, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Minister of Science and Technology, to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.

Presenting the Politburo's decision and giving a directive speech, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Nguyen Trong Nghia, stated that, in the general context posing many new demands and tasks for the Party, the country, and the people, the transfer, assignment, and appointment of Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat as Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department is a new strength and a new resource for the Department to continue to successfully fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party, the State, and the people.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department stated that Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat was born in Ben Tre – a homeland rich in revolutionary traditions. He received a thorough education and held many positions; he has a long history of contributions to the revolutionary cause in general, and especially to education and training, science and technology in particular. As Director of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, he made significant contributions, transforming the university into one of the leading higher education institutions in Vietnam and the region. As Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat contributed to major breakthroughs in the field of science and technology.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department emphasized that science and technology are one of the breakthrough areas, promoting innovation and creativity, and are the foundation for the country to enter a new era, an era of national progress, as General Secretary To Lam affirmed. Therefore, the role and responsibility of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department in the above tasks are very important, including the need to accelerate digital transformation in ideological guidance and policy communication to every cadre, Party member, and citizen.

Summarizing the reform and reorganization of the political system's apparatus, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department requested that the collective leadership, cadres, workers, and employees of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department continue to unite and work together to ensure that all activities run smoothly, uniformly, and effectively.

At the same time, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department requested that the newly appointed Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Huynh Thanh Dat, leverage his practical experience, quickly adapt to the new field of work, and work together with the leadership, officials, civil servants, and employees to effectively carry out the assigned tasks.

In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Huynh Thanh Dat, expressed his deep gratitude to the Party and State leaders for their trust in assigning and appointing him to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department. He also expressed his appreciation for the close guidance of the Party and State leaders, especially the affection and enthusiastic support of the leadership, officials, civil servants, and employees of the units that helped him successfully complete his assigned tasks.

In his new position, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat deeply understands that this is both an honor and a great responsibility for him personally, especially in the context of strengthening propaganda and mass mobilization work, contributing to the further dissemination of breakthrough mechanisms and policies, and important tasks with strategic significance of the nation that have been issued, disseminated, and directed by the Politburo.

Responding to the directives, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Huynh Thanh Dat stated that he will be determined and make every effort, together with the department's leadership and various departments and units, to focus their intellect, dedication, and experience; promote a spirit of unity and responsibility; and improve the quality of advice to successfully complete the assigned political tasks, meeting practical requirements as well as the trust of the Party and State leadership.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat affirmed that he will strive to quickly research and familiarize himself with the functions, tasks, programs, and plans of the committee; and together with the departments, units, and all cadres, civil servants, and employees, he will successfully complete the assigned tasks, contribute to the overall achievements, and help enhance the role and position of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee in the future.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat was born on August 26, 1962; his hometown is An Dinh commune, Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province; he joined the Party on September 20, 1990; his political theory qualifications are a Bachelor's degree; his professional qualifications are Associate Professor and Doctor of Physics.

Prior to being transferred, assigned, and appointed as Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, he was a member of the Central Committee of the Party in the 12th and 13th terms; a National Assembly delegate in the 12th, 13th, and 14th terms; and Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of Science and Technology.
