Mr. Le Quang Tu Do - Deputy Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, under the Ministry of Information and Communications - said: "Pokémon GO has only been released in Vietnam for a relatively short time. Therefore, we still need more time to assess the impact of this game, especially the negative impact on society, on players, especially young people. Thereby, the Ministry of Information and Communications will decide whether to ban it or not. For now, the Ministry advocates giving recommendations to be cautious before the game."

He also emphasized: “For Pokémon GO in particular and online games in general, the Ministry has a policy that businesses that publish online games domestically and abroad must comply with the provisions of Vietnamese law. If they do not comply, we must take preventive measures to protect players and build a healthy online environment.”

But first, the Ministry of Information and Communications is still very cautious in considering, monitoring and carefully reviewing the impacts of Pokémon GO on Vietnamese players.
