The Vietnam Coast Guard Command is implementing a community outreach program titled "Coast Guard with Ethnic and Religious Communities" in Nghi Loc.
On July 6th, in Nghi Quang commune, Task Force No. 2 for combating drug crimes - Coast Guard Command, in coordination with the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command, Military Hospital 4, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nghi Loc district, and Nghi Quang commune, organized a community outreach program titled "Coast Guard with ethnic minorities and religious communities".
On this occasion, over 250 officials, citizens, fishermen, and parishioners of Nghi Quang commune listened to presentations on maritime issues, the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard, the Law on Drug Prevention and Control, the 2017 Fisheries Law, and the fight against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, through direct instruction and the distribution of leaflets.

Earlier, on July 5th, at Nghi Quang commune's fishing port, the working group disseminated information to over 300 people and over 100 fishing vessels, distributed over 4,500 leaflets of various kinds; donated 500 national flags and 200 law books to fishermen. They also organized environmental sanitation activities at the harbor, village roads, and alleys, and reinforced and cared for hundreds of black star trees planted by the unit along the new rural roads in Nghi Quang commune.
On this occasion, the organizing committee presented 25 gift packages and 20 life jackets to Catholic families, fishermen, families of war invalids and martyrs, and families with meritorious contributions to the revolution who are in difficult circumstances (each gift package worth 500,000 - 1,000,000 VND); awarded a scholarship for the 2024-2025 school year to one orphaned child of a Catholic family; and provided free health check-ups and medication to over 120 elderly people.

These activities contribute to strengthening the bond between the military and the people, particularly between the coast guard forces in general and the No. 2 Anti-Drug Crime Task Force, and the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghi Quang commune, Nghi Loc district, as well as other units stationed in the area. This bond is becoming increasingly strong, contributing to socio-economic development and ensuring security, political stability, and social order.

The "Coast Guard with Ethnic and Religious Communities" community outreach program is a meaningful and effective model that has been maintained for many years by the 2nd Anti-Drug Crime Task Force of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command in localities within its operational area. Through this program, the Coast Guard hopes to encourage people of all ethnic and religious groups to promote solidarity, effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, preserve their national cultural identity, actively engage in production and economic development, and build a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland.
