On the afternoon of February 2nd, a delegation from the Engineering Command, led by Colonel Khong Manh Hung - Deputy Political Commissar of the Engineering Corps, visited and extended New Year greetings to the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.
Receiving the delegation from the Engineering Command were Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office.

In a solemn and warm atmosphere, Colonel Khong Manh Hung and the members of the delegation expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome from the Provincial Party Committee leaders. They also extended their best wishes to the local leaders and people for a prosperous and successful new year, and for achieving all socio-economic development targets.

Sharing with the leaders of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Colonel Khong Manh Hung summarized some of the unit's achievements in fulfilling its nhiệm vụ over the past year.Accordingly, the Engineering Corps is a crucial component of the armed forces, playing a key role in both national defense and socio-economic development.
The core mission of the Engineering Corps is to construct national defense structures to support wartime combat plans; to carry out training and combat readiness tasks, ensuring security and safety for important political events of the country, such as Party Congresses; and to conduct in-depth training and research to apply science and technology to military affairs.

The branch of service also participates in United Nations peacekeeping forces and international search and rescue operations.
Besides its military duties, the Engineering Corps is also a core force in supporting the people and localities. The Corps actively participates in responding to storms and floods, and in search and rescue operations both domestically and internationally. In Nghe An province, engineering units have coordinated with Military Region 4 to assist people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and providing relief in emergency situations.
At their deployment sites, units of the Engineering Corps directly participate in maintaining local security and order, and perform well in civilian outreach and charitable activities, providing financial and resource support for programs to eliminate temporary housing and assist the poor, contributing to building a solid "battleground of the people's hearts".

Acknowledging and congratulating the achievements of the Engineering Corps over the past year, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee respectfully thanked the agencies and units under the Engineering Corps for their attention, support, and effective coordination with Nghe An province.
Emphasizing the advantages and challenges in 2025, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee stated that Nghe An is a large province with a large population and a strategically important position in terms of national defense and foreign relations. Despite facing severe natural disasters that caused heavy damage, the province has achieved impressive economic achievements with high growth rates and budget revenue approaching long-term targets. In particular, the work of ensuring social welfare has been prioritized by the Party Committee, government, and people of the province, with a highlight being the campaign to eliminate temporary housing, resulting in the construction of nearly 21,000 houses.

To achieve these results, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Hoang Nghia Hieu, stated that in addition to the efforts and determination of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots, there was also the enthusiastic support and cooperation from the armed forces. Particularly noteworthy is their work in assisting localities to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and develop the economy, thereby contributing to the overall stability and development of the province.
In order to strengthen the close relationship between the armed forces and the government of Nghe An province, and to build a solid foundation of public support, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed his wish that the Engineering Corps continue to actively participate in social welfare activities, especially in supporting the elimination of temporary housing and playing a key role as a pillar in helping people cope with natural disasters, storms, and floods.

Simultaneously, on behalf of the leadership of Nghe An province, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu pledged to create all favorable conditions regarding procedures and land for the Engineering Corps units to successfully complete key national defense projects, working with local authorities to ensure national security while promoting sustainable economic development for the region.
